Sashiko - with Sarah Payne

Join award winning quilter, designer, author and TV sewing demonstrator Sarah Payne for a relaxing day exploring the beautiful Japanese-inspired techniques of Sashiko stitching.

Sarah will guide you through the history and principles behind these traditional techniques before helping you create your own stitched samples using simple running stitches, layering and patching.

(You will receive a kit of threads and fabrics to help you start for Sashiko journey!)

Perfect for beginners as well as experienced stitchers, this is a wonderfully mindful class where wonky stitches are absolutely allowed! You'll leave with new skills, plenty of inspiration and ideas for using Sashiko and Boro for decorative stitching, textile art and beautiful visible repairs.

Within the price of the workshop you will be given all the fabrics and wadding you need to make this wall hanging, together with Lorna's expert guidance.

You need to have a competent basic sewing machine skills and will need to bring a your sewing machine and a basic sewing kit.
